I have an LM10IC13BBB10F00 (datasheet attached) differental linear magnetic quadrature encoder which I'm using a NI USB 6211 to read the positive channel (A, B) with. It works well even though I do not get the full differential capability the 6211 has to offer. I would like to use the USB 6211 to read the encoder signal from a linear optical encoder, specifically the RGH24H15F30A. Connecting the RGH24 to the 6211 in the same manner, I am not able to read any signal through NIMAX.
Could someone help me troubleshoot this? A bit more info follows.
- The encoder scale is on the bottom of a Prior Scientific XY stage
- The status LED on the RGH24 reads green throughout the entire range of the scale
- At both slow speeds and fast speeds the LED remains green.
- To read the signal I have used 2 different NI USB 6211s. Both read the LM10 encoder fine but plugging the RGH24 into the same digital inputs results in no signal
- I am using the counter tab of NI MAX to test whether I am receiving signal or not. With the mode set to edge counting and the Edge source set to PFI0 where my A input is wired. When running this the counter value continually reads 0 even though the stage is moving.
